Luke Curtis joins Scrivener Tibbatts as a Graduate Surveyor

We were delighted to welcome Luke Curtis to Scrivener Tibbatts as our latest Graduate Surveyor recruit. It’s always rewarding to be able to help anyone with their career, but especially someone as thoughtful as Luke. Here are some of the answers he gave us as to what attracted him to the firm, and Wimbledon in particular, write Clive Scrivener MRICS and Zah Azeem MRICS, Partners at Wimbledon based Chartered Surveyors Scrivener Tibbatts.
What first attracted you to surveying?
I was drawn to surveying because it combines problem-solving with property and people. I’ve always liked the idea of giving practical advice that genuinely helps clients make important decisions.
How important to you is it that surveyors have Chartered status?
I think Chartered status is very important as it demonstrates professionalism, technical competence and a commitment to high standards. Clients should feel confident they are receiving trusted, regulated advice.
Have you lived in Wimbledon long? What do you like about the area?
I’ve lived in Morden most of my life but went to school at Wimbledon College, so have spent a lot of time in Wimbledon. I absolutely love the two weeks the global tennis tournament is on too, as it brings such a great buzz to the area.
What particular specialisms do you have or are working towards? What interests you about them specifically?
I’m currently working towards becoming a RICS Chartered Surveyor and I would be specialising in valuations. I’m particularly interested in the huge variety of flats and houses that I get to value and enjoy the fact that every instruction is different.
Given a choice would you rent or buy a property? Why?
Given the choice, I would prefer to buy because of the long-term security and investment potential.
Scrivener Tibbatts has been going for a significant number of years now. What do you think are its strengths?
I think one of the company’s greatest strengths is its longstanding reputation and depth of experience. Clients value the personal service and the emphasis on clear, professional advice.
